Growing up, we had to buy specific dry and wet cat food for our cats just as we bought dog food for allergies for our dogs because they were very particular. I’ve looked up a bunch of pet product reviews to find the best cat food. If we veered off from Whiskas dry food, for example, they would turn up their noses and rather starve. It didn’t matter if we bought them the fancier stuff, they didn’t care. Fast forward to my adult life and my cat Brady is just as picky, or rather he has an attraction to salt.
When I adopted him as a kitten, I started him out with the same regiment as the cats I had growing up but I quickly learned that he didn’t really care for wet homogenized food. I switched to the chunks in gravy and all he did was lick off the gravy! No matter what brand I tried, I got the same results (can you tell I am a scientist?). On the other hand, if you crack open a container of deli meat or bacon you better watch out because he will body slam you to get some. In the end I settled for just giving him dry food and occasionally treat him to a slice of deli meat or bacon. Surprisingly enough he couldn’t care less which brand of cat food I serve him but I tend to stick to Purina indoor cat food.
Despite my vet assuring me that he is perfectly healthy (large, not fat) and elligible as an ESA cats team member, I often feel as though I am depriving him of greater options. I know I would lose my mind eating the same thing all day every day. So when I found out that PetSmart was exclusively carrying a new line of cat food from Purina called Muse®, I decided to try it out. With 30 different flavors made with real fish or poultry, and no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives I hoped there would be a chance that this natural, grain free product would win over my cat’s taste buds. Seriously though, just reading the descriptions of the flavors was making me hungry because they sounds like actual meals!
In case you have been so enthralled by what I have to say and didn’t notice all the cat pictures (heck if I were me I’d be ignoring every word and staring at only the pictures saying, KITTY!), My cat loved it, so much so that he actually had to fight off competition as I welcomed another cat into my life when the boy and I moved in together back in January. But I’m getting off topic (KITTY!). I was incredibly impressed by my cat actually eating the food and not just licking it to death which proved to me that with Muse you don’t have to choose between natural nutrition and food that tastes great. Your cat can have both when you choose Muse.
And while yes the clean bowl was a tag-team effort, I have no doubt in my mind that if I had given them each their own they would have easily polished them off just as easily. I’m glad I took a leap of faith and bought several different varieties and look forward to feeding it to my cats. It’s like feeding people a great meal, you feel good knowing they enjoyed it. And since I am also all about the coupons, thankfully when I run out there’s also a coupon up for grabs!
Natural has never been so delicious. Put Muse to the test with our clean plate guarantee!

They are so cute! We’re glad that liked Purina Muse®. Thanks #client
Awww cuties!! I’m a sucker for the little furry ones. :)
Cats are much easier, period. And they smell better (can’t stand dog body odor). Our travels had us leaving our poor old cat for 2-4 months at a time. Poor guy would spend a lot of time yelling at our house sitter, and then at us after we’d get home. And demand to go in and out as many times as we’d fall for… Interesting that your family cats lived so long. The oldest of our growing up family cats (a couple of them) lived to 16-17.
Yea to be honest and nice about it at the same time, if we had been living together before he got the dog, I would have been strongly against it. Unfortunately it was before we were dating so they were a package deal. After 9 months I have to say, I am most definitely a cat person haha.
Nice shot of Brady.
It was fun seeing your cat pictures. We lost ours (at age 20.5) several years ago, and we’ve never replaced him because a) we spend too much time traveling and b) he was such a curmudgeon it will take years to regroup and be ready to deal with a cat again. He was a love as well as a curmudgeon, and I still miss him, so I appreciate the opportunity to enjoy other people’s cats.
Aww yea the only other two cats I’ve had were the ones I grew up with and they lived to be in their early 20s as well. It was hard to move on to another cat but I am glad I did. My boyfriend has a dog too and IDK why he ever got a dog because we travel a lot over the weekends as well. Cats are easier to leave on short trips!
