Hot Oat & Quinoa Cereal

Why stick to just oats when you can have this hot oat & quinoa cereal? Topped with maple syrup, and toasted pepitas and pecans for the perfect start to your day.

While the weather may be yo-yo-ing between highs in the 80s and lows only in the 60s, that doesn’t stop me from craving a warm breakfast. Especially when it has golden raisins and dried cranberries mixed in. The other great thing about this oatmeal/cereal is that you can prepare it the night before and then reheat it in the morning, just refresh it with a little milk and some great toppings like real maple syrup, pecans, and pepitas.

This hot breakfast cereal even has some quinoa in it instead of just being all oats so it’s packed with extra protein, which I am all about. And by the way even if you are not a quinoa fan, it blends right in. Which got me to thinking, maybe I should try adding quinoa to granola bars? Oh yea, quinoa granola bars work too ;-).

I have had them both separately but I like the sound of using them together!

I’ve had oats for breakfast and breakfast quinoa, but never combined the two. Going on my to-do list! And I’m so jealous of your weather. I am happy when we get a day with highs in the 60’s right now!
