I am not normally into trendy slang, I cringe at "za", but "bloobs" snuck into my vocabulary. Much to my husband's dismay he too has adopted it ::evil laugh::

These muffins however are not so evil, with bloobs, ricotta, cardamom, whole wheat flour, and honey 🍯.

I think I hit a record for the @ohiostatefair this year, attending 3 times! And there's still time for more as the fair runs through the weekend to August 7th. 🎡

One beautiful evening I was the guest of the Ohio Soybean Council for a behind the scenes tour and an education in agriculture. 🌱

Obviously we focused on soybeans, but soybeans impact many aspects of agriculture beyond your tofu and edamame:

Did you know that 97% of soybeans in the US go on to become animal feed? In fact most of the protein in the food for pigs, cattle, and poultry comes from soybeans. 💪

Vegetable oil is mostly made from soybeans as well, but soybean oil can also be made into biodiesel, which is a clean-burning fuel that is renewable. 💚

Soybeans also help farmers keep the soil rich in nutrients such as nitrogen, rotating them (and wheat) with high-nitrogen utilizing corn crops. 🌽

If you're headed to the fair this weekend, be sure you stop by the Land & Living building to check out baby chicks, piggies, and to learn more about Ohio agriculture.

Prior to drowning in peaches, it was blueberries.

Here's yet another recipe that I updated on the blog last week and spaced when it came to sharing on IG (or actually I forgot that I did share it after all, hahahaha).

Our blueberry bushes are nearly spent for the year now, but I was hauling a substantial amount from the few bushes we have in our yard a few weeks ago. Between freezing, eating, and baking they went the distance. And these chocolate blueberry muffins were one such baking contribution.

Don't have blueberry bushes exploding in your backyard? You can also use frozen.
