The copy I have also says a baked pie crust, which I assumed was graham cracker! I forgot that you can get baked regular crusts too as I’ve never used one. I’ll have to search for one next time. And yes the original also said to put the fresh berries in the bottom but I thought it would be better mixed in after the other half cooked down.

But it calls for a baked pie crust not graham cracker and it says pour the fresh berries into baked crust and then the cooked berries go on top of them, not mixed in . Other than that it is exactly the same. Not sure whose handwriting but it says it came from the “Ely Echo” in 1981.

We had one like that, which I adopted when I married my husband. He died about 10 years ago, and I still can’t fathom replacing him. Not to mention that I still miss him – he was a real curmudgeon but also very loving. I hope you are able to find a good replacement or two.
