In reply to spiffycookie. I could try to recreate it for you, if you want. Not sure I'll be successful, but I know that I got the spice combo from my mother's pumpkin pie recipe which I do still have.

I remember fondly the days when I would collect all the neighbors’ pumpkins after Halloween and use them to make pumpkin butter (unfortunately that recipe is long gone from my possession). When I had all the pumpkin baked – or while I was baking it – we would invariably have a power failure thanks to the Santa Ana winds that usually hit on the first or second of November. These days Trader Joe’s sounds like an excellent option. and I like the sound of these cookies. Just might have to try them, since our weather has suddenly gotten cool enough at night that popsicle season is past.
