Brownie Batter Dip

For all those times you want to lick the bowl while making brownies, here’s a brownie batter fruit dip that you can eat freely.

Brownie Batter Dip 3

Yes yes yes, another dessert-ish recipe post I know. I originally had planned to share an entree today but as usual planned to much for the weekend and didn’t get around to it. Hopefully I will get you something on the other side of the recipe spectrum later this week! But can you really be upset when what I’m sharing is a brownie batter dip? Which I then not only served with fruit but also the chocolate chip Oreos? Can you think of any better way to eat this limited edition flavor than dipped in brownie batter?

Brownie Batter Dip 1

As for my weekend, Friday was pretty lazy but Saturday I began trying to figure out what kind of engagement ring I prefer (there too many options!), going to traditional jewelers and antiques/consignment stores, which turned into dinner followed by Gallery Hop, and finished it off with s’mores and a fire in our backyard. Sunday we went to the Ohio State Fair which just so happened to have been my treat day between rounds of my workout challenge so I got to indulge in candied nuts, elephant ears, cookies, cheesecake (all the desserts!), bbq, and later when we went out to eat, pasta! Not gonna lie, after eating healthy for over 3 weeks I felt like crap and actually look forward to getting back into it!

BROWNIE BATTER DIP

Serves 8

Ingredients:

8 oz. cream cheese, room temperature

8 oz. frozen Whipped Topping, thawed

2/3 cup brownie mix (heat treated*)

Directions:

  1. In a medium bowl, mix cream cheese, whipped topping, and brownie mix until well incorporated.
  2. Place in serving bowl and chill until ready to serve. Enjoy with your favorite cookies or fruits!

*Raw eggs are not the only possible source of bacterial contamination, raw flour is also a culprit. Heat treat by heating in microwave to 160 degrees F – about 1 minute stirring every 15 seconds.

Brownie fruit dip is an interesting concept. But one I won’t indulge in, so I’m far more interested in knowing what kind of engagement ring you decided on. By the time we got to where we could shop for an engagement ring it was only two days or so until we would be married, so I passed on that. I’m very happy with my plain, white gold wedding band. Engagement rings are good when one is going to be just engaged for more than two weeks (yes, we did it all very quickly, but we just celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary).

I didn’t decide on anything yet. I’m more into the nontraditional or antique rings so that means there are far too many good options and it’s difficult to pick one when they are hard to find in person and try on. But I at least narrowed it down slightly haha. When I have a better idea I will share!
