Yes it does! Just be sure to wrap it well and air-tight. I prefer wrapping my dough in plastic wrap and then placing it in a freezer Ziplock bag, with all the air squeezed out.

Now I love them! The chewy texture you describe sounds wonderful, sounds like some lucky swappers that got them!
