I grew up with these as well, also with no bun. I believe the original recipe was from a good housekeeping cook-book, titled “cooking for two”

I love this burger, it sounds fantastic! I love the idea of pineapple in it! Yummy!! I wish I had some pineapple, I’d make this for dinner tonight!
