Melt Organic Butter 2.0 Reader Giveaway

by Erin

If you’ve been a reader of The Spiffy Cookie for awhile, you are familiar with my approval of Melt‘s rich and creamy organic butter substitute. I was immediately won over when it made my favorite chocolate chip cookies even better than I could’ve imagined. Since then I’ve used it on many occasions including a week long challenge where I made Nutella swirled banana bread snack cakes, corn chowder with zucchini and orzo, and German chocolate s’mores gooey cake bars. And of course, I also enjoy spreading it like butter over toasted bagels and anything else I can get my hands on. I have only tried the regular MELT buttery spread but really want to try out their honey and chocolate versions. I wasn’t able to find those two in Memphis, and after checking their store locator I will not have better luck in the Knoxville area. Boo hiss. I may have to order it directly from them online.

Melt-All-Products

I think I’d try a brioche with it. Just to see how it will hold up.

This might sound crazy, but I would actually try it in my oatmeal! I have Celiac Disease and I use Gluten Free oats every morning to make oatmeal for my breakfast. I every so often get into a oatmeal rut, trying to figure out new and exciting things to put in/on my oatmeal to still encourage me to eat healthy and make sure I get enough fiber and minerals (since my Celiac Disease hinders me to get it in other ways)

I often make bread sticks with a biscuit base. They are dipped in melted butter before baking. Maybe this would be a good alternative for such things.

I’d like to try it on sandwiches to add an extra bit of creaminess. Maybe put some on a little sourdough bread and toast it up, add a touch of cinnamon on top? Yum!

The wife and I just had our second lil girl whom is breastfed and sensitive to dairy. So I have had to change the way I cook while she is breast feeding. So there went my homemade lasagna and pizzas for awhile. But the one thing I can’t seem to give up myself is butter, but if this stud tastes and cooks like butter I would gladly try it.
