Am I posting too many breakfast recipes lately? For some reason I have been splitting at the seams with things I want for breakfast and it definitely shows on here (assuming you are reading these posts chronologically).

Even with World Nutella day on the horizon (which is the same day as the Superbowl this year – 2012) the spirit of breakfast still has yet to cease. Let’s just compromise for this momentous holiday by pre-gaming with a Nutella smoothie, mmk? You really cannot argue with someone telling you to have Nutella for breakfast.

But it’s not made of just Nutella, give me some credit here. In addition to the two tablespoons of Nutella (or homemade chocolate hazelnut spread if you want to control the sugar), you will also add banana, Greek yogurt, milk (or your preferred milk alternative), and oats. It may be a bit sweet but it’ll satisfy as a breakfast option.

You could also pump it up by adding a scoop of your favorite protein powder. I love doing that with my smoothies so I can substitute them for a meal, especially for breakfast when I am in a hurry and cannot sit down to eat something. Just blend it up (especially easy in my blender cup adapter) and go!

Nutella for breakfast…I’m all over that. To be honest, this might be my dessert tonight. Alongside a brownie, clearly.
