Homemade Pizza Sauce

Homemade pizza is one of my favorite things to make, but you can’t just stop with the crust and the toppings. Whip up this easy pizza sauce recipe for your next pizza night.

Homemade Pizza Sauce 1

Do you have a favorite homemade pizza sauce recipe? Most of the time if I don’t buy it jarred, I will use a jar of pasta sauce instead and add a bit of seasoning. But when I found a homemade pizza sauce recipe I thought I would give it a try. With a great flavor that was simple and quick to prepare, I have reused this recipe a few times already. It’s also great for dipping!

This is a really great sauce. I’m generally not a fan of red sauces, but this one is now officially my go-to pizza sauce. No jars from the store needed, because it is very simple and quick. And I have enough left from what I used it for today to make 3 more pizzas. I already have plans for trying it next week on a pizza I usually put a white sauce on.

Woohoo! I am so glad I am not alone. Everyone seems to have different preferences for pizza sauce and I agree, this is my favorite!

I have a recipe for homemade pizza sauce but it isn’t very thick. I like the idea of a lot of tomato paste to thicken it. And by the way, my recipe, at the end, calls to put balsamic vinegar in it and it’s very delicious!

Mmm I bet the balsamic is a great touch. I’ll have to remember that for next time.

I love that this is a no-cook recipe! My favorite homemade pizza sauce is a no-cook recipe as well. When I’m already making pizza dough and toppings, I can’t usually be bothered to also cook the sauce :)

I love homemade pizza sauce and oddly enough it’s pretty easy to make. It seems these days we can’t keep enough jarred stuffed in the house, my Husband has been on a mozzarella and pepperoni kick lately. Thanks for the recipe. I’m going to book mark this for when I need to make some sauce.

I love homemade pizza sauce, I actually just made some the other day too. I love your recipe; so simple and beats buying the sauce already in the jar!

Love this. I have a bag of pre-mixed gluten free pizza dough that has been staring at me … now that I have my sauce, I’m one step closer :)

I have been neglecting some dough in my fridge. I hope it’s not past it’s prime :-(

I’m thinking pizza ! the crust is simple – it’s always the sauce that’s tricky. find one you like and you’ll be a hero. Now you did all the work and I’ll be a hero. I like the sound of that. :)

Looks lovely.
